Dr. John Holt has been practicing gastroenterology since 1991 and has been a part of Triangle Gastroenterology since 1996.
After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Holt received his medical training at East Carolina University School of Medicine. He did an internship in internal medicine at Wayne State University. He then returned to East Carolina to finish his residency. He also completed his fellowship in digestive diseases at the University of Medicine and Dentistry/New Jersey School of Medicine.

Dr. Hirendra Doshi has been practicing gastroenterology since 1988 and has been a part of Triangle Gastroenterology since 1996.
Dr. Doshi received both his undergraduate degree and medical training from the University of Bombay in India. He completed his residency at New Jersey Rutgers Medical School and then finished his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Georgetown School of Medicine.

Dr. Anil Tumbapura has been practicing gastroenterology since 2001 and has been a part of Triangle Gastroenterology since 2002.
After graduating from medical school at Bangalore University in India, Dr. Tumbapura did his residency at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Utah and furthered his education by doing an advanced fellowship in diagnostic and therapeutic EUS at the University of Utah as well.

Dr. Lanny Newell has been practicing gastroenterology since 1981 and has been a part of Triangle Gastroenterology since 2008.
Dr. Newell received both his undergraduate degree and medical training from UNC-Chapel Hill. He completed his residency at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill and then finished his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Kentucky.

Ryan Johnston is a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner who is certified by and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ryan earned her Bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University, Masters in Nursing Education from East Carolina University, and Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Masters degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to joining Triangle GI, Ryan has worked in cardiology, geriatrics, and family practice.
Ryan lives in downtown Raleigh with her husband and two daughters. In addition to nursing and medicine, she is passionate about traveling, reading, and a little reluctantly, exercise! As a native Tarheel, she is honored to provide care to a community that she loves.
